Arliss L. Andresen, age 82, of Fulton, Illinois, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Genesis East Hospital in Davenport, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chadwick, Illinois. Burial will follow in Chadwick Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, prior to the funeral at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chadwick.
Arliss was born March 17, 1930, in Carroll County, Illinois, the daughter of Jens and Irene (Geisz) Andresen. She graduated from Chadwick High School with the Class of 1948. She then received her Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics from Northern Illinois in Dekalb, Illinois. Arliss went on to receive her Master’s degree in Education from Illinois State University in Bloomington, Illinois.
Arliss taught elementary school for many years in the Morrison, Illinois, School District. She was a very loving and caring person who enjoyed helping her family and friends, she would do anything she could for them, and especially enjoyed cooking for them. One of her greatest joys came from living by the river and the wildlife that would come right up to her house. Arliss loved to feed birds and squirrels, and loved watching the deer.
Arliss is survived by one sister, Darlene (Jack) Ladd – Hogan of Farmington, Maine; one brother, Harold (Kay) Andresen of Chadwick, Illinois; two nieces, three nephews, and five great nephews.
Arliss was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Doris Andresen; two nephews, Randy and Rodney Andresen; and one brother – in – law, Roger Ladd.
