Arline D. Bauer, age 65, of Savanna, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Freeport Memorial Hospital, Freeport, Illinois. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the Ahlgrim Funeral Home, Elmhurst, Illinois. Cremation will take place with inurnment at a later date in Oakridge Cemetery, Elmhurst. A memorial fund has been established in Arline’s memory.
Arline was born on December 25, 1942, the daughter of Arthur and Carol (Todd) Kaergard in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from York High School in Elmhurst. Arline married John H. Bauer on May 14, 1966 in Elmhurst. John passed away on October 30, 2000.
Arline was a homemaker most of her life. In 1987 she was struck with Gillian-Barre’ Syndrome, which paralyzed her body. She approached her illness with an “I-Can- Win” attitude, and was always positive. In 2005 she fought breast cancer, and won. Arline enjoyed life and never gave up her sense of humor. She enjoyed working with computers and pictures; she also enjoyed playing the organ. She was a member of Melody Makers in the Chicago area.
Arline will be dearly missed by her son, John (Samantha) Bauer of Wheaton, Illinois; a daughter, Staff Sergeant Diana Bauer of Naperville, Illinois; four grandchildren, Bradley, Valerie, Deena, Dayna; and one great-grandson, Dwight.
Arline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; a daughter, Deborah Lloyd; and a sister Linda Kaergard.
