Arlene Ruth O'Neal

Arlene Ruth O’Neal , age 81, of Savanna, Illinois died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, Iowa. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 22, 2013 at Law Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in Arlene’s memory.
Arlene was born on July 31, 1931, the daughter of Charles and Pearl (Allen) Belander in Chicago, Illinois. She married Lawrence O’Neal Jr. on November 28, 1948, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Savanna. Lawrence passed away May 1, 1994.
Arlene was a homemaker who cherished taking care of her family. She attended St. John Baptist Catholic Church in Savanna. She enjoyed shopping, garage sales, crocheting, ceramics and creating crafts. She especially enjoyed going for car rides, with her sister.
Arlene will be dearly missed by her three sons, Michael (Helen) O’Neal, Charles O’Neal, and Dennis O’Neal all of Savanna; two daughters , Kathlinee (Ed) Majchszak and Christina (Brian) Lewandowski of Toledo, Ohio; one sister Mariann Meador of Lanark, Illinois, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Lawrence one son, Daniel O’Neal, and her parents.
