Arlene Irene Hunt, age 72, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois previously of Chicago died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll, with Reverend Robert Ziebarth of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Carroll officiating. Memorials may be given in Arlene’s memory for the Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
Arlene was born Valentines Day, February 14, 1938 in Chicago. Her loving parents were John and Mary Ellen “Marie” (Olney) Hunt. She attended Chicago schools, then took time-off to care for her mother before returning to night school to receive her degree. Arlene worked as a Homemaker for Catholic Charities in Chicago and also as a Nurses Aid. She enjoyed helping anyone in need. Arlene was a good listener and had a great sense of humor, even during her last months. While living in Chicago, she loved her cats.
Arlene will be dearly missed and survived by two sisters, Kathleen Quinn of Mt. Carroll and Annita (George) Bruening of Kentucky; a sister in-law, Lois Hunt of Chicago; her nephew, Jeffrey (Suzanne) Quinn of Mt. Carroll; and nine other nephews and nieces. Arlene is preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Jack Hunt in 1999.
