Apama Louise “Pamie” Paddock, age 84, of Sabula, Iowa, died Saturday, March 4, 2006 at the Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, Iowa. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 7 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Sabula. Burial will be in the Miles City Cemetery, Miles, Iowa. Pastor Robert Krueger of the Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 6 at the Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula. Memorials may be made in Pamie’s name for the Calvary Lutheran Church.
Pamie was born October 30, 1921 at Green Island, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Ellen (Yappen) Mangler. She is a graduate of the Sabula High School with the Class of 1940. Pamie married Marvin R. Paddock August 16, 1941 in Maquoketa, Iowa. He died October 22, 1986.
There was nothing more important to Pamie than family. Pamie was a homemaker and enjoyed babysitting. She worked at the Oxford Speaker Factory in Sabula for eighteen years. She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula; a 63 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #74 of Sabula where she held several offices and chaired the Poppy Committee for many years. Pamie was also a member of Sabula Senior Citizens, TOPS and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Pamie will be dearly missed by two sons, Darwin (Joan) Paddock of Sabula and Daryl (Cecilia) Paddock of Cincinnati, Ohio; her daughter, Cheryl (Jerry) Parker of Savanna, Illinois; seven grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Wayne (Linda) Mangler of Clinton, Iowa, Lloyd “Nun” (Carolyn) Mangler and Albert “Perg” (Velma) Mangler, both of Sabula; two sisters, Isabelle “Izzy” (Robert) Brundage of Sabula and Mary (James) Sandholt of Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Pamie is preceded in death by her husband, four grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.
