Annelies U. Wilson, age 78, of Elizabeth, Illinois, died Monday, July 25, 2011, at the Elizabeth Nursing Home, Elizabeth. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011at the Elizabeth Nursing Home. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Annelies was born July 2, 1933, in Neuhammer, Germany, the daughter of Reinhold and Erna (Fester) Sommer. She worked for Micro Switch in Galena for many years. Annelies enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, and spending time with her neighbor Betty and special friends Barb and Kristina. Her love for cats led her to be one of the founders of the Safe Haven Animal Rescue in Elizabeth.
Annelies is survived by a sister, Waltraut Piela of Velten, Germany; a niece Regina Piela of Berlin, Germany; special friends, Barb and Kristina Conderman. Annelies was preceded in death by her parents.
