Anne Marie Stretton

Anne Marie Stretton, age 82, of Savanna, Illinois, died Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center, Clinton, Iowa. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at the Law Jones Funeral Home in Savanna with Pastor Nancy Carr officiating. Burial will be in the Glen Oak Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois. A visitation will be held from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2007 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Memorials may be given to Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest, P. O. Box 3564, Oak Park, Illinois 60303.
Anne was born on August 24, 1925 in Oak Park, Illinois, the daughter of Walter R. and Elizabeth (Roerig) Janggen. Anne graduated from Oak Park High School Class of 1943. On August 14, 1948 she married William Stretton in Chicago, Illinois.
Anne enjoyed being a homemaker. She and her husband learned the French language together prior to traveling to France and Anne was a founding member of the French Club of Oak Park, Illinois. She had a passion for the Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest. She participated by making goodies and treats for the breaks when the Symphony played.
Anne will be deeply missed by her husband, William; a brother-in-law Robert Stretton, Jr.; three nephews, Robert (Vicki) Stretton III and Mike (Tammy) Stretton all of Savanna, and Jeff (Sandy) Stretton of McAlster, Oklahoma; a niece Kathleen (John) Eaton of Savanna; three great nephews; and two great-great nieces.
Anne is preceded in death by her parents; one sister; Martha Stretton; and one brother John W. Janggen.
