Anne M. Gendreau, age 97, of Savanna, Illinois, died Tuesday, January 22, 2008, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 28, 2008 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Reverend Michael Wey of the First Presbyterian Church in Savanna will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2008, at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Burial will take place in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Savanna. Memorials may be given in Anne's memory to see the First Presbyterian Church, Savanna

Anne was born on June 13, 1910, the daughter of Andrew and Sidsel (Hegadell) Miller in Petersburg, North Dakota. She attended and graduated from Beautician School in Fargo, North Dakota. Anne married Eugene M. Gendreau February 25, 1940 in Petersburg, North Dakota. Gene died January 1, 1988.

Anne loved people and enjoyed owning and operating several businesses. Anne and Eugene first owned and operated an A&P Grocery Store in Rockford, Illinois for several years and in 1956, they started Rock River Amusements in Rockford. They then moved to Savanna in 1965 and started Savanna Amusements, which later became Illowa Music and Games Incorporated. Anne was a member of the Savanna Moose Lodge and was a former Cub Scout Leader when they lived in Rockford. She attended the First Presbyterian Church in Savanna and donated regularly to the Crystal Cathedral in Anaheim, California. She enjoyed working, crocheting, and especially loved spending time with her family.

Anne will be dearly missed by three sons, Wayne "Moon" Gendreau of Hanover, Illinois, Jerry (Vicky) Gendreau of Savanna, and Steven (Connie) Gendreau of Savanna; six grandsons, Jerit (Angie) Gendreau, Brad (Ashley) Gendreau, Travis Gendreau, Ryan (Patsy) Gendreau, Eric (Melissa) Gendreau and Josh Gendreau; two granddaughters, Michelle (Dennis) DeBarre and Rachel Gendreau-LaShelle; and six great grandchildren, Demi and Alex DeBarre, Drew, Alexia and Hunter LaShelle, and Olivia Gendreau; one brother, Lloyd Miller of Grand Forks, North Dakota; and one sister, Lillie Nusviken of Grand Forks, North Dakota

Anne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene; daughter-in-law, Mary; five brothers and four sisters.
