Anna Theresa Deppa, of Savanna, IL passed away on the 10th of June, 2012 at the age of 85. Visitation will be held at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, IL on Friday, June 15, 2012, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, at St. John The Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Anna was born on May 2, 1927 in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, to Melinda and Phillip Wiegman where she grew up with eight siblings on a family farm and graduated from Cuba City High School. On September 12, 1953, Anna married Donald V. Deppa in St. Francis Catholic Church in Hazel Green, Wisconsin and then moved to Savanna, Illinois. Anna was a loving mother of four children; Anthony Deppa, Linda Schmidt, Theresa LaShelle and Marcia Siedenburg.
Mrs. Deppa was an active member of the Woman of the Moose in Savanna. During retirement she spent most of her days playing crossword puzzles and catching up on Court TV, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She devoted much of her time visiting with and helping out the family. Anna will be deeply missed by her family and friends; her strong will and generosity will not be forgotten.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Donald V. Deppa of Savanna, Illinois; daughters, Linda (David) Schmidt of Albany, Illinois, Theresa LaShelle of Clinton, Iowa, Marcia Siedenburg of Clinton; grandchildren, Shaunia (Robert R.) Deppa-Manley, Amanda LaShelle and Anthony LaShelle; great-grandchildren, Taylor Winter and Landin Fahlbeck.
Mrs. Deppa is preceded in death by her son; Anthony Deppa; parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Jim Wiegman; four sisters, Phyllis Hoppman, Elenor Kaiser, Agnes Pickel and Ethel Dalsing.
