Ann B. Young

Ann B. Young, age 92, of Elizabeth, Illinois died Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at the Galena Nursing Home, Galena, Illinois. A funeral mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2005 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Elizabeth with Father Chris Kuhn as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Elizabeth. A visitation is scheduled from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2005 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Elizabeth, with a 6:00 p.m. Wake Service. Memorials may be given to the family in Ann’s memory.
Ann was born October 5, 1912, the daughter of Charles and Teresa (Corkery) Artman. Ann married Walter H. Young on April 24, 1937 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Elizabeth. Walter passed away on December 3, 1973. Ann enjoyed being a homemaker and she worked eight years for Eaton Corporation in Hanover, Illinois.

Ann was a long time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Elizabeth and the Altar and Rosary Sodality of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed long walks in the country, especially hunting for morel mushrooms and gardening. Ann enjoyed and loved her family.

Ann will be deeply missed by her three sons, Jim Young (Dolly Schumaker) of Hanover, Harold Young of Galena and Tom (Dorothy) Young of Elizabeth; two daughters, Mary (Mike) Kruger of Elizabeth and JoAnn Bonjour of Galena; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Walter; five brothers, Walter, Joe, Alfred, Henry and Raymond; one sister, Mary; and one daughter in-law Jill Young.
