Ann K. Leonard

Ann K. Leonard, age 101, of Sabula, Iowa, died Monday, July 6, 2015 at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Sabula. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church in Ann’s memory.
Ann was born on December 31, 1913, to Earnest and Anna (Eggers) Kunau in Teeds Grove, Iowa. She played girls varsity basketball and graduated from Miles High School with the Class of 1931. Ann married Lester Leonard on October 12, 1940 in Teed’s Grove, Iowa. Lester died in 1993.
Ann was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Martha Circle, Sabula Senior Citizens, and was Secretary for the Krabbenhoft Library Board for many years. She also worked at the Sabula Speaker Factory for 14 years. She enjoyed doing crosswords and cryptoquotes.
Ann is survived by one son, Wayne (Barb) Leonard of Sabula; one daughter, Maryann Beaudoin of Sabula; five grandchildren, Deb (Todd) Temperly of Parkview, Iowa, John Beaudoin of DeKalb, Illinois; James Beaudoin of Quincy, Florida; Michael Leonard of Mt. Carroll, Illinois and Sara (Kurt) Alm of Goose Lake, Iowa; six great-grandchildren, Madison and Mitchel Temperly, Noah and Fancy Leonard, Abigail and Jace Alm, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester; seven brothers, and one sister.
