Andrew Derek Marcellis

Andrew Derek Marcellis, age 33, of Milledgeville, IL, passed away on March 13, 2024. His loss is unexpected, and his family and friends are profoundly saddened.

Andrew was born in Winfield, IL on July 22, 1990, the son of Randy Marcellis and Tamara Meanyhan. He was a graduate of West Chicago Community High School and was a baptized member of the Catholic Church. He was engaged to be married to the love of his life, Lynn Thompson, before her untimely passing in 2020.

Andrew had an undeniable brilliance about him and was a man of many diverse interests. He found joy in gaming, reading, and studying the various subjects ranging from sciences, to mathematics, to the arts – with an emphasis on lenticular art. He enjoyed nature, often finding time to hike on local trails, and had a great love for all animals. He especially loved bird watching and befriending local squirrels and other wildlife. But above all else, Andrew cherished spending time with his family and friends.

He will be deeply missed by his mother, Tamara Teague, of Winfield, IL; brother, Kenneth (Jennifer) Marcellis, of Elgin, IL; sister, Christine (David) Ehle, of North Aurora, IL; and nephews and nieces, Chase, Dylan, Landon, Aubrey, and Charlize. Andrew is preceded in death by his father, Randy Marcellis; uncle and godfather, Wesley Marcellis; grandfather, Donald Marcellis; and fiancé, Lynn Thompson.

A celebration of life will be held privately, for close friends and family.
