Amber Dawn (VanBrocklin) Nance, 36, of Freeport, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015, at St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford. Visitations will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2015 at Walker Mortuary in Freeport and Saturday at Law Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015, at the Law Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. Burial will be in the York Township Cemetery in Thomson, Illinois. A memorial has been established.
Born December 12, 1979 in Freeport, Amber was the daughter of John and Twila (Hatheway) VanBrocklin. She married Jason M. Nance June 5, 2004. She was a 1998 graduate at Thomson High School with high honors and a graduate of Rockford Business College. Some of Amber’s favorite past times were movies, music, books, and being with family and friends. Amber worked at St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford for 17 years.
Amber will be dearly missed by her husband, Jason of Freeport; her father, John (Cindy) VanBrocklin of Mt. Carroll; her mother-in-law, Kathy Nance of Loves Park; her brother, David VanBrocklin of Mt. Carroll; her sister, Brandy Vogel of Fulton; her brother-in-law, Jessie Nance of Roscoe; her maternal grandmother, Betty Hatheway of Savanna; her paternal grandmother, Catherine VanBrocklin of Elizabeth; 2 nephews, Xander Vogel and Gabriel Nance. She was preceded in death by her mother, Twila VanBrocklin; her maternal grandfather, Leo E. Hatheway; her paternal grandfather, Allen VanBrocklin.
