ALYSON H. FREDERICK, age 89, passed away quietly on the evening of March 31, 2006, in his long-time hometown of Savanna, Illinois. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church, Savanna, Illinois. Pastor Lisa Mapes will officiate. Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choice in Alyson's memory.
Alyson was born February 17, 1917, in Nebraska, the fifth son of Oscar and Frankie May (Davis) Frederick. A graduate of Shannon High School, Alyson married Mary Margaret Doty of Savanna on January 30, 1944. Alyson was a career employee with the Milwaukee Railroad. He was a member of the Lanark Masonic Lodge #423 for 63 years and was an active member of the Tabala Shrine. Alyson was also a member of the Freeport Consistory and the Jo-Carroll Shrine Club. Alyson was an avid golfer and a supporter of numerous charitable organizations.
Alyson was a loving and beloved family man who is survived by his son, Donald (Cynthia) Frederick of Burke, Virginia; three grandsons, Brian, Kevin, and Timothy; two granddaughters-in-law; great- granddaughter Ava Alyson Frederick; several nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, and several sisters-in-law.
Alyson was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and his four brothers, Oris, Yiett, Lynn, and Ward.
