Allen Matson

Allen Matson, age 78, of Hanover, Illinois passed away Friday, September 15, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City. A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon, Friday, September 22, 2017 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Hanover. Burial will take place in Lost Mound Cemetery, Hanover. Visitation will be held 11:00 – 12:00 noon, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in Allen’s memory.

Allen was born on April 14, 1939, in Wittenberg, Wisconsin, the son of Oscar and Adeline (Kabow) Matson. Allen married Tina White on December 19, 1980 in Savanna, Illinois. He worked over thirty years for Neumiller Farms. He considered the Neumillers Farms crew as family.
Sundays were family day. Allen loved spending time with grandchildren. Most of all, he cherished the years she spent with his wife, Tina.

Allen will be dearly missed by a stepson, Jerry (Joan) Anderson of Savanna; 10 grandchildren, Evelyn Keep of Hanover, Priscilla Mangruem of Rockford, Sharon Cruces-Ortiz of Hanover, Jeanny Medel, Allen Matson, and Hazel Matson all of Dubuque, and Joshua, Josie, Brandon and Ashley Anderson; 18 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Donna Matson of Dubuque, Iowa; and two sisters, Donna (Jim) Kozlobsky of Wittenberg, Wisconsin and Jackie Bukall of Birnamwood, Wisconsin; and a special friend, Shannon Tate of Hanover. Allen is preceded in death by his wife, Tina; his son, Gene Matson; a sister, Carol Matson; three brothers, Austin, Dwayne and Danny; and both parents.
