Allan William Hayward age 53, of Preston, Iowa, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Alverno in Clinton, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Preston, Iowa. Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation and burial of cremated remains will take place in Preston Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Allan’s memory.

Allan was born June 12, 1964 in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of Ronald and Doris Ann (Johnson) Hayward. He attended Preston High School and graduated with the Class of 1983. He later attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and graduated in 1991 with an Associates of Arts in Culinary Arts. Allan worked at the Best Western Plus Steeplegate, Prairie Grill in Davenport, Iowa and the Frontier Best Western in Clinton and specialized in the prep and cooking of the fish.

Allan enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling and the Texas Ranger’s Baseball Team. Most of all, Allan cherished the time he spent with his niece and nephew.
Allan will be dearly missed by his parents Ronald and Doris of Preston; brother, Doug L. Hayward of Rock Island, Illinois; two sisters, Beth A. Hayward of Preston, Crystal (Shawn) Gaskins of Rock Island and his favorite niece, Nicole and nephew, Christian. Allan was preceded in death by his grandparents.
