Allan Felderman, of Spragueville, Iowa was known as being dependable, loving, always had a kind word, and was available to help others. At the age of 82, Allan died Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center, Clinton, Iowa. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m.Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Salem Lutheran Church, Spragueville, Iowa. Burial will be in the Spragueville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston, Iowa. A memorial has been established in Allan's memory.
Allan was born July 31, 1932 in Bellevue, Iowa, the son of Perley and Mildred (Keeney) Felderman. As a boy, Allan grew up on a farm near Bellevue. He is a 1950 graduate of the Bellevue High School. Allan served in the US Army for three years. On September 7, 1957, Allan married Shirley Beck. They have celebrated 57 years of marriage.
Allan worked for Clinton Engines before starting his own business, Felderman Welding, which he owned and operated for over fifty years. He could weld pretty much anything and was very creative, especially with wrought iron. Allan was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church, the Spragueville City council for over fifty years, the Iowa Blacksmith and Welders Association, and the Spragueville American Legion. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, camping, animals, baking candy on holidays, and especially spending time with family and friends.
Allan will be dearly missed by his wife Shirley of Spragueville; a son, Dale Allan (Sara) Felderman of Preston; two daughters, Becky Joiner and loving companion Rick Willis of Clinton, Iowa, and Brenda (Pete) Eickert of Preston; seven grandchildren, Sheena, Shane, Jennifer, Quentin, Koty, Logan and Jacinta; and a sister, Gloria "Toots" Sagers. Allan is preceded in death by both parents and a brother, William.
