AlJean Julia Wilslef, age 86, of Maquoketa, Iowa, formerly of Preston, Iowa, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa, Iowa. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2006 at the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church of Preston, Iowa. Reverend Gregory Geier will officiate. Burial will be in the Preston Cemetery, Preston. Memorials may be made to the Jackson County Public Hospital Long Term Facility, Maquoketa, IA. Friends may call from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, at the Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston, Iowa.
AlJean was Born October 28, 1919, in Green Island, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Bessie (Hatfield) Lingle. She married Virtus L. Wilslef April 3, 1936 in Dubuque, Iowa.
AlJean farmed with her husband for 30 years in the Preston area. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church of Preston. AlJean enjoyed cooking and housekeeping. She loved her family and the time they spent together.
AlJean will be dearly missed by her husband, Virtus of Preston; two daughters, Dolores (Charles) Reistroffer of Maquoketa and Cindy Lou (Donald) Iversen of Parkview, Iowa; her son, Robert (Mary Ann) Wilslef of Ozark, Missouri; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wilma Jensen of Stockton, Illinois.
AlJean is preceded in death by two sisters; and three brothers.
