Alice W. Zink

Alice W. Zink, age 78, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at University Of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Cremation Rites will be accorded and a private burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll at a later date. A memorial fund has been established in Alice’s memory.
Alice was born December 5, 1933, in Savanna, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Mable (Eastman) Dyer. She attended Savanna High School and graduated with the Class of 1951. Alice married Walter C. Zink on August 7, 1955 in Savanna. He preceded her in death on August 6, 2001. Alice worked for many local businesses in Mt. Carroll, including Shimer College, Atkinson and Associates, Kennedy's Restoration, HB Wilkinson and Assurance First.
Alice enjoyed going to the casino, playing Bingo, reading. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Alice is survived by one son, William (Linda) Zink of Fulton, Illinois; four daughters, Donnell (Konrad) Sack of Mt. Carroll, Annette (Mark) Hepner of Kewanee, Illinois, Carla (Tim) Craig of Humble, Texas, Barbara (Todd) Pederson of Mesa, Arizona; nine grandchildren, Kelly (Scott) Boehde, Jason (Betty Jo) Schmitt, Ryan (Amber) Zink, Tracy (Conan Stanley) Zink, Morgan Temperly, Kylie Temperly, Linnea Hepner, Carter Craig, Lacey Sack; three great grandchildren, Whitney Cassaday, Jordan Boehde, Emily Ann Russell-Zink; two sisters, Mary Ellen Noxon of Seward, Nebraska, Noralee (Donald) Schamp of Lakewood, Colorado. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one half brother, Bruce Christiansen; and two half sisters, Norma White and Lois Baker.
