Alice Faye Warfield, age 67, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died Sunday, May 16, 2010, at home surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll, with Reverend Mark Harkness of the Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. A memorial fund has been established in Alice’s memory.

Alice was born September 1, 1942, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the daughter of Cecil L. and Leona Bentley. She is a 1960 graduate of The Maquoketa High School, where she enjoyed playing the clarinet. On June 3, 1962 Alice married Frederick A. Clark in Maquoketa. Frederick passed away May 23, 1983. Alice later married Earl Warfield on October 24, 1985 in Mt. Carroll. They have enjoyed twenty-four years of marriage.

In younger years, Alice worked at the Dairy Queen and the National T Store, both in Maquoketa. She and Frederick moved to Mt. Carroll in 1967 when he took a Music Instructor position at the Mt. Carroll School District. Alice was a homemaker and also worked for the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home, Myrna’s Café, and also as a Reporter for the Mirror Democrat and Clinton Herald.

Alice was a great mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed music, baking, gardening, walking and being active. Alice was a member of the Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church.

Alice will be dearly missed by her husband, Earl; a son, Fred Clark Jr. of Mt. Carroll; two daughters, Lynnette (Paul) Forth of Mt. Carroll and Tasha (Tony) Croffoot of Mt. Carroll; five grandchildren, Ben and Freddie Clark, Michael and Maya Croffoot and Jayden Forth; a brother, Cecil (Sheila) Bentley of Maquoketa; and many nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her first husband Frederick, and both parents.
