Algean Michel

Algean M. Michel, age 86, of Preston, Iowa, died on Monday, July 20, 2015 at the Mercy North Nursing Facility, Clinton, Iowa. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Preston with Father Don Hertges as Celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 prior to the service at the Church.
Algean was born on February 16, 1929 in Springbrook, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Susan (Kloft) Michel. She attended Springbrook Catholic School. She worked for Nielson’s in Clinton, Iowa and for Pacific Coast Feather Factory in Maquoketa, Iowa until retirement. Algean was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Preston. She belonged to several card clubs and enjoyed playing 500 and Euchre.
Algean will be dearly missed by three brothers, Alvin Michel of Springbrook, Lloyd (Waneda) Michel of Preston, and Clyde (Charlene) Michel of Preston; and many nieces and nephews. Algean is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Susan; three sisters and three brothers-in-law, Leona (Melvin) Schmidt, Lillian (Frank) Trenkamp and Marie (Art) Banowetz; and three brothers, Floyd, Leo and Harold Michel.
