Albert Lee Tittsworth, age 90, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society, Mt. Carroll. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017 at the Mt. Carroll Church of God. Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. Military Rites will be conducted by the Mt. Carroll American Legion, Post #67. A memorial fund has been established.
Albert was born February 12, 1927, the son of Grant and Orinda (Hinch) Tittsworth in Barry, Illinois. Albert proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Albert married Irene Longenecker on September 22, 1947 and later married Irene “Rena” Oldfield on December 1, 1979.
Albert worked for National Lock in Rockford, and Savanna, Illinois, and Mauldin South Carolina for 42 years until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the United Methodist church in Roscoe, Illinois, where he volunteered many hours, and enjoyed being a part of the men's group. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, bird watching and spending time with loved ones.
Albert will be dearly missed by his companion, Darlene McGrew of Rockford, Illinois; two daughters, Neysa Bonnell of Mt. Carroll and Karen (Dave) Barraza of Chadwick, Illinois; one son, Lee (Judy Johnson) Tittsworth of Mt. Carroll; three stepchildren, Pat Mannino of Rockton, Illinois, Robert (Christine) Bestor of Clinton, Wisconsin, and Jennifer (Sean) Harrison, of Beloit, Wisconsin; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Pauline Maubach of New Berlin, Illinois, Juanita Helms of Springfield, Illinois, and Bonnie (Clifford) Huddleston of Barry, Illinois.
Albert is preceded in death by his wife, Rena; three brothers, Eugene, Vernon and Ronald Tittsworth; two sisters, Margaret Ikemire and Deloris Hall; and an infant son, Larry Albert Tittsworth.
