Albert Marshall passed away October 24th, 2016. Born in rural Sabula, on March 6th, 1926 delivered at home by mid-wife Marie Horst to Anna and John Marshall. He was part of the family farm that ranged from a Grade-B milking operation to delivery of eggs into town, leaving only to serve his country during WWII and at the last for needed care at Alverno in Clinton. Upon his parents passing nearly 50 years ago Albert continued farming, bachelor but friend and "uncle" to many. Visiting was by far Albert's favorite, stopping by to see him could take a spell – on one event him and the neighbor became confused by the chirping sound, finally realizing they had talked all night and the birds were waking up. One of the last of his generation Albert will be missed but well remembered. He is survived by his sister Hazel Marie Mass of Davenport and five nieces and nephews, Rena Hunt of Andalusia, Cheryl Kaplan of Tucson, Kevin Mass of Sabula, Janelle Weinstein of Davenport and John Mass of Rock Island. Proceeded in death by his parents. Gravesite service along with military honors to take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery just outside of Sabula on Thursday November 10th, luncheon to follow at the VFW in Sabula.
