Richard L. Sartwell

Richard Lee Sartwell, 85 of Camanche, Iowa, died 2 June, 2023 at Bickford Senior Living of Clinton Iowa. He was born on the 18th of September, 1937 to Paul and Hazel Sartwell in Savanna, Illinois.
Richard was a Navy veteran, having served as a Yeoman 2nd Class on the DD-694 USS Ingraham. He married Mary Louise Hansen on 11 January, 1958 and they had 3 children, Thomas, Jeffrey and Michael. He worked as a pipe-fitter at the E. I. DuPont - Clinton Plant and retired after over 30 years of service.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter, loved living along and being out on the Mississippi River. Richard is survived by his wife, Mary Louise and children, Jeffrey and Michael - grandchildren, Sara, Matthew and Benjamin. He was preceded in death by his son Thomas W. Sartwell.
A memorial church service will be held at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savanna on Friday the 9th of June, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.. Internment will follow at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the Law Jones Funeral Home in Savanna prior to the service at the church.
