Myrna L. Miller

October 29, 1934 - June 18, 2022

Myrna L. Miller, age 87, of Clinton, previously of Miles and Preston, Iowa passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Westwing Place Nursing Center in Dewitt, Iowa surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Preston. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the Church from 9 – 11 am. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Preston. Condolences may be left for the family at lawjonesfuneralhome.com. Myrna was born October 29, 1934 in Clinton, the daughter of LeRoy and Leola (Mohr) Wilke. She is a 1952 graduate of the Miles High School. She then attended Jane Lamb School of Nursing and worked at the hospital for a few years. On April 15, 1956, Myrna married Reynold Miller at Faith Lutheran Church, Andover. In 1961, they moved to Preston where they raised their two daughters, Sheryl and Pamela. They also owned and operated Miller Funeral Home in Preston for 38 years. Myrna and Reynold have celebrated 66 years of marriage. Myrna was a life-long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Preston. She enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening and doing cross-stitch. She especially treasured time spent with family. Myrna loved seeing friends at Cragmor Dr. Ladie’s luncheons. She always looked forward to the Miles HS class reunions and the former annual meetings of Jane Lamb Graduates and Nursing Association. Myrna was the Mohr family historian for 40 years. Myrna is survived by her husband Reynold of Clinton; two daughters, Sheryl (Douglas) Lenker of Wilton, Iowa and Pamela (Patrick) Greene of Iowa City; a granddaughter, Megan Greene of Denver, Colorado; and a brother, Roger (Karen) Wilke of Andover. Myrna is preceded in death by her parents.
