Marion L. Siedenburg

Marion L. Siedenburg, 93, of Savanna, IL, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Community United Church of Christ, 346 Chicago Avenue in Savanna, with Pastor Niel Shoffner officiating. Burial will take place in Savanna Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, 4:00-7:00pm, February 1, 2019 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Memorials may be given to the Community United Church of Christ in Marion’s memory.

Marion Faust was born October 8th, 1925 in Dubuque County, IA, the daughter of Emerald and Mildred (Schaller) Faust. She graduated from the University of Dubuque in 1946. On June 16th, 1951, she married George Siedenburg of Savanna. George passed away March 1, 2016.

Marion taught school for a number of years in Dubuque County, Clinton, IA, and in Savanna. As an active member of The Community United Church of Christ, she taught Sunday School, served on various church boards, and assisted with the Youth Fellowship program.

Marion will be dearly missed by two children: son, William Siedenburg of Thomson, IL; daughter, Sharon (Laurence) Wynne of Naperville, IL; 4 grandchildren, Rachael (Mike) Mishka; Brandon (Annette) Wynne, Jordan (Madeline) Wynne; and Colin (Skyler) Wynne; and 10 great-grandchildren: Ryan, Madison, Mackenzie, Michael, Tyler, Noah, Riley, Logan, MacKenna, and Brayden. Additionally, Marion leaves 3 sisters-in-law, 16 nieces and nephews, several cousins, and numerous dear friends and neighbors who have helped her immensely in these past years. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 3 sisters-in-law, and 3 brothers-in-law.
