Jim Reinhardt
January 4, 1959 - January 4, 2022
Jim Reinhardt, aged 63, passed away on January 4th in his home. He left the world just as he entered the world; with love from his family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents H Robert Sr. and Patricia and his late brother Don, and is survived by his sisters, Cathy, Mary, and Patricia, former spouse Laura, his children Andrew, Matthew (Jessica), Timothy (Erin), and Caitlin (Devin). He was a very big advocate for family, and so his nieces and nephews Lyle (Katie), Luke (Melissa), Levi, Laura (Alex), Steven (Andrea), Maureen(Forrest) were also a big part of his life. Jim was born on January 4th, 1959, in St. Charles, IL to Patricia Donovan and H Robert Reinhardt, Sr., though he grew up in Wheaton, IL. Growing up in Wheaton, he kept his hobbies simple – cars, tech, music. He grew those hobbies from his teen years and still enjoyed them to this day. His love of cars grew from the ’69 Camaro (that was well known throughout Wheaton), into being able to help ensure that his sons had reliable cars growing up, as well as hitting the open road with his bike. His tech skills helped him secure a way of life; building computers, but also having the joy of working for himself through most of his adult life. As for his love of music, well, that grew into a passion of the arts. Whether it was to pick up his bass and strum a few cords, take his camera out onto the Mississippi River for a few shots, or grab his canvas and his brushes to just sit in peace on top of the hill, that’s something that really moved him in his off time. He just really learned to appreciate all of the arts, whether it was something to listen to, look at, or look for. Jim and Laura knew each other since the age of 16. They were married on 1/1/1983, and enjoyed many years together. They raised 4 beautiful children together, whom he loved very much, and let them know as often as he could. While it may not have lasted between Jim and Laura, they were still important to one another, as the love they created with their children is something that they could never truly turn their backs on. Jim moved to Savanna 3 years ago, and completely fell in love with the town. It was his own place of paradise. One thing that made the move a little easier, was the addition of his dog, Sammy. Jim rescued Sammy shortly after moving into his home, and made sure that Sammy knew he was completely and utterly loved. They were the absolute best of friends, and anyone close to Jim knew that. At this time, we will be holding off on having a celebration of life until a later date. In lieu of flowers, we would like to see that donations would be made to some of the ideals that Jim held dear in life. Please consider donating to either the World Relief Charity or Project Give Hope.
