James Falancer

James K. Falancer, age 71, of Savanna, Illinois, died Wednesday June 11, 2014 at his home. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 16, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Savanna. Burial will take place in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Savanna. A visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the funeral mass at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A memorial fund has been established in James’s memory.
James was born May 9, 1943, the son of Kenneth and Mary (Lyden) Falancer in Galena, Illinois. He attended Galena High School in Galena, Illinois and graduated with the Class of 1961. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. James married Mary Ann O’Leary on June 5, 1982 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Savanna. Mary Ann died on November 22, 2013.
James worked as a security guard for the Savanna Army Depot from 1967 to 1999. He was a member of the Savanna VFW Post#2223 and the Galena Elks Club for 50 years. He enjoyed traveling and working on his computer. Mostly, James loved spending time with his family—especially his grandchildren.
James will be dearly missed by his son, David Pask, of Savanna; three grandchildren, Travis, Reno and Brianna Robertson and one sister, Donna (Gerald) Morhardt of Scales Mound, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann; one daughter, Michelle Robertson, and his parents, Kenneth and Mary.
