Dennis B. Roling

Dennis B. Roling was a good listener and a kindhearted person. Dennis died at the age of 59, Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Assumption Catholic Church, Charlotte with Father Scott Lemaster as Celebrant. A visitation will be held for one hour prior to the mass at the church. Burial will be in the Assumption Catholic Church Cemetery in Charlotte. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston. A memorial fund has been established in Dennis’s memory.

Dennis was born on February 2, 1955, the son of Lawrence and Marie (Elsner) Roling in Clinton, Iowa. He attended Northeast High School and later earned his Bachelor Degree in Business from Mt. St. Clare College, Clinton. Dennis helped manage the family farm in rural Charlotte and helped take care of his mother, Marie. He loved the farm and especially enjoyed taking care of all his farm animals. Dennis enjoyed sports and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Most of all, Dennis loved spending time with his family and friends.

Dennis will be dearly missed by four brothers, David (Therese) Roling of Charlotte, Delbert (Priscilla) Roling of Lost Nation, Iowa, Eugene (Penny) Roling of Dewitt, Iowa; two sisters, Bernadette Boyd of St. John, Indiana and Colleen (Kevin) Fischer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and numerous nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Marie Roling.
