Beverly Courtley

Beverly A. Courtley, age 81, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois died on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at West Suburban Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Bloomingdale, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2017 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll will Father Moises Apostol as Celebrant. Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Timberlake Playhouse, PO Box 29, Mt. Carroll, Illinois 61053 in Beverly’s memory.
Beverly was born on April 21, 1935, the daughter of Peter and Julia (Junek) Markus, Sr. in Riverside, Illinois. She attended Lyons Township High School and graduated with the Class of 1953. Beverly married George A. Courtley on May 28, 1955. George died on November 17, 2008.
Beverly worked as an office clerk for several automobile dealerships in the Chicagoland area. She was an office manager for Laurel Motors in Westmont, Illinois before retiring and moving to Mt. Carroll with her husband, George, in 1997. Beverly was a devout Catholic and was a member of SS. John and Catherine Catholic Church, Mt. Carroll. Beverly enjoyed volunteering at the Carroll County Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Mt. Carroll.
Beverly will be dearly missed by her son, Lance D. Courtley of Carol Stream, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, George, one brother, Peter Markus, Jr. ; and one sister, Adeline Basa.
