Betty Ader, age 88, of Thomson, Illinois, died Sunday, February 12, 2012, at her home in Thomson. Cremation rites will be accorded. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Betty was born September 22, 1923, in Mercer County, Missouri, near Mt. Moriah, the daughter of Jesse and Clesse (Dinsmore) Wilburn. She attended school in Mercer County. Betty married Kenneth Ader. He preceded her in death in 2000.
Betty moved to Freeport, Illinois, in 1953. She went to work for Burgess Battery Company in Freeport as a lineworker. Betty then went to work for Microswitch in Freeport, working there until her retirement in the late 1980’s.
Betty loved to buy and sell antiques. She could always be found going to auctions, garage sales, and estate sales. She worked at Pulford Antique Mall in Savanna, Illinois, in her spare time. Betty was known for her witty humor and was always smiling and laughing. She always thought of others before herself. Betty enjoyed flowers and bird watching in her backyard.
Betty is survived by four daughters, Linda (Roger) Weiand of Thomson, Illinois, Sharon May of North Carolina, Joyce (Gary) Baceda of Phoenix, Arizona, and Twila (Jack) Hannah of Phoenix; one son, Mike (Katrina) Ader of Colorado Springs, Colorado; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; one sister, Vera Peska of Freeport, Illinois; and one brother, Stacy Wilburn of Albany, New York.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Ader; three sisters; six brothers; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
