Amy C. Sturtz age 46, of Morrison, Illinois, passed away suddenly Monday, September 18, 2017 at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family in Amy’s memory.
Amy was born on December 15, 1970 in Sterling, Illinois, the daughter of William and Sharon (Jackson) Woodyatt. She attended Eastland High School and graduated with the Class of 1990. Amy later attended Rockford University in Rockford and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. She was a substitute teacher for Fulton, Morrison, and Sterling Schools. For the past three years, Amy was a case worker for the Illinois Department of Human Services in Sterling.
Amy married the love of her life Scott Sturtz on February 14, 1992 in Mt. Carroll. They celebrated 25 years of marriage. Amy enjoyed photography, knitting, crafts. She loved going on Harley rides and even enjoyed riding her own Harley. Amy’s ability to make meatloaf, macaroni salad and chocolate chip cookies will certainly never be able to be duplicated. She cooked with love and by taste. Most of all, Amy treasured her family.
Amy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 25 years, Scott; four children, Samantha (Fiancé Jon Brown) of Fulton, Illinois, Ryan Sturtz of Morrison, Tristan (Sarah Promenschenkel) Sturtz of Morrison, Jamie Sturtz of Morrison; three grandchildren, William, Jesse, Kiya; special nephews, Brayden and Tanner; stepdad, William Huttunen of Oregon, Illinois; brother, Sam Woodyatt of Oregon; sister, Wilma (Randall) Kloepping of Pearl City, Illinois; many nieces and nephews and father-in-law, David Sturtz. Amy was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon; brother, Jimmy Woodyatt; nephew, Dakota Woodyatt.
