Alta Paxton, age 88, of Fulton, Illinois, formerly of Mt. Carroll and Savanna, Illinois, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, Iowa. A private graveside service will be held on April 5, 2007, at Savanna Township Cemetery, Savanna, Illinois.
Alta was born February 19, 1919, in Ideal, Illinois, the daughter of Earnest and Bessie Caroline (Keller) Lartz. Alta attended country school in Ideal, Illinois. Along with being a homemaker, Alta worked for Eaton Corporation in Savanna for ten years and Swiss Colony in Savanna for five years.
Alta enjoyed playing cards, music and dancing, gardening, sewing and cooking. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Alta will be dearly missed by one daughter, Peggy Paxton of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; three grandchildren, Angie Hammon, Scott (Shelly) Paxton and Darrell D. Paxton all of Clinton, Iowa; and close friends, Elmer and Shirley Oostenryk of Fulton, Illinois and their children, Jacob Gomez, Andrea Gomez, Kristina Gomez, Kim Kerr, William Gomez; also their grandchildren, Maudia and Kemora; and her two dogs Coco and Punky.
Alta was preceded in death by her parents, one son Darrell Dean; three brothers, William “Bill” Lartz, Walter Lartz and Austin Lartz.
