Virginia M. Weber age 97, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society in Mt. Carroll. A funeral will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery in Mt. Carroll. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Virginia’s memory.
Virginia was born on February 9, 1920 in Savanna, Illinois the daughter of Thurman and Kathleen (Buckwalter) Mowry. She married Lloyd A. Weber on February 15, 1940. They celebrated 59 years together, Lloyd passed away July 18, 1999. Virginia was a homemaker and farmed with Lloyd. Being a homemaker brought joy to Virginia, while she helped raise her four children.
Virginia was a member of the United Brethren Church, Center Hill and a member of the Jacobstown Community Club. She enjoyed decorating her home for all the seasons, and took pride in taking care of her home all year round. She also loved crocheting and embroidering. Most of all, Virginia treasured the time she spent with her family.
Virginia is survived by her three children, Teresa (Don) Nowviock of Stockton, Illinois, Tom (Judy) Weber of Venice, Florida, David (Paula) Weber of Princeton, Illinois; a son in-law, Lee Butler of Freeport, Illinois; five grandchildren, Kim (David) Lyle, Tim (Tashawna) Weber, Matthew (Arija) Weber, Amy (Timerlee) Nowviock, Angela (Eric) Johnson; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband; a baby; daughter, Linda; daughter, Karen Butler; brother Forrest Mowry; sister Joyce Hovorka and a daughter in-law, Janice Weber.
