Margaret “Peggy” A. Richmond, age 50, of Clinton, Iowa, previously of Hanover, Illinois, died Thursday, January 21, 2016 at her home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Peggy was born February 11, 1965, the daughter of Forrest “Butch” and Linda (Armstrong) Pratt in Portsmouth, Virginia. She attended Hanover High School and graduated with the Class of 1983. On July 25, 1992, Peggy married Richard “Dick” Richmond in Galena, Illinois.
Peggy worked at McDonald’s in Clinton, Iowa for 12 years. She was a great cook, and famous for her lasagna. She enjoyed long car rides and road trips. She loved to go camping and sit around the fire having a beer, talking with family and friends. Peggy loved spending time with her grandkids and having family get-togethers for Labor Day weekend. As a mother, her kids remember her as being their protector, mediator and safety net.
Peggy will be dearly missed by her husband, Dick of nearly 24 years; seven children, Jody (Jeremy) Thorne of Lakewood, Colorado, Michael (Daphne) Richmond of Mesquite, Texas, Jason Richmond of Clinton, Jason Kloss of Clinton, Jennifer (Gabe) McKee of Apple River, Illinois, Janessa (Troy) Pafford of Apple River, and Nick Richmond of Clinton; 16 grandchildren, Emma, Logan, Avery, Dylan, Macaela, Trinity, Brian, Alyvia, Ragenea, Xavier, Madison, Isabella, Gabriel, Treyton, Hailie and Thomas; her mother, Linda Pratt of Hanover; one brother, Jerry (Mindy) Pratt of Elizabeth, Illinois and one sister, Karen (Matt) Nelson of Walford, Iowa. Peggy is preceded in death by her father, Butch; her grandparents; her mother and father-in-law, Robert and Eileen Richmond, and one aunt, Nancy McKinley.
