Donald Edward Crawford

Donald Edward Crawford, age 76, of Thomson, Illinois, died Thursday, January 13, 2011 the Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna. Cremation Rites will be accorded. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Clinton, Iowa.
Don was born on January 5, 1935, the son of Howard M. and Hazel M. (Larsen) Crawford in De Kalb, Illinois. He attended Genoa Kingston Schools in Genoa, Illinois. Don married Deloris J. Cronk on October 21, 1989 in Sycamore, Illinois.
Don worked for various factories in De Kalb and Rochelle, Illinois and in his younger years he farmed with his father. He also worked as a security guard for Burns Security, Bettendorf, Iowa. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Don will be dearly missed by his wife, Deloris of Thomson, Illinois; four step-children, Anthony (Ginger) Roccaforte, Sammy Roccaforte, Linda M. (Al) Hitchcock and Terry (Amber) West; one sister, Mary (James) McLain of Savanna, Illinois; two brothers, Dale (Joyce) Crawford of Machesney Park, Illinois and Charles (Evelyn) Crawford of Sycamore, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald Crawford, Jr.; and one sister, Kathy Ward.
