Collin Alexander Ross

Collin Alexander Ross, age 21, of Savanna, Illinois was born March 4, 1992 in Freeport, Illinois, the son of Jon and Teresa (Gilmore) Ross. Collin went to join Christ in Heaven Sunday, June 16, 2013. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Savanna, with Reverend Dan Foelske officiating. Visitation will be held 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A memorial fund has been established in Collins memory.
Collin was the first grandson of paternal grandparents, Charles and Jo Ann Ross of Savanna and maternal grandparents, Wayne and Bev Gilmore of Mt. Carroll. When he was just three years old, Collin welcomed his brother, Matt to the family, and later at the age of 10, he welcomed his sister, Jenna. His parents, Jon and Teresa always knew something "interesting" was about to happen when Collin and Matt were working on projects or riding four-wheelers. Collin loved to spend time with his brother, Matt, his younger sister, Jenna, and beloved friend, Brad McGinnis. Fishing, exploring, video-gaming, or just doing whatever Jenna wanted to do, gave him some of the best times. The past couple of years, Collin built a strong relationship with his companion and girlfriend, Katrya Lessman of Shannon. He had many hopes and dreams ahead of him.
Collin is a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Savanna. He is a 2010 graduate of the Savanna High School, and a 2012 graduate of the Morrison Institute of Technology. He was currently attending the University of Wisconsin - Platteville. Collin was also working at Iowa Engineers Process of Independence, Iowa. During summers in college and while in high school, Collin worked at Poopy's in Savanna.
He will be dearly missed by his entire family. They pray that he is safe with God, and that all friends and family will hold Collin in their hearts forever.
