Wilma Grace Wurster

Wilma Grace Wurster, 83, of Elizabeth, IL., passed away on April 28, 2020, at FHN Hospital in Freeport, IL. She was born January 3, 1937, in Woodbine, IL, to Omar and Grace (Eacker) Wurster.

Wilma attended Terrapin Ridge Grade School. She continued her education at Elizabeth High School graduating with the class of 1955. Wilma was musically gifted, she learned to play accordion, piano, and organ under the instruction of Ardath Simmons, Stockton, IL.

She loved the farm life and was a dedicated worker. She worked on the family farm until she moved to Grandview Estates in Elizabeth. She and her family enjoyed the numerous county fairs where they would enter their home grown vegetables and handicraft items into contests. She had many prize winning entries earning her a collection of blue ribbons throughout the years. After she moved from the farm, she continued her quest into genealogy. She devoted many hours to researching and recording family history.

Wilma was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Derinda, IL. She had a deep belief in God and was steadfast in her faith. She was one of the most kind and friendly people anyone could meet. She loved to talk and enjoyed meeting new people. She has passed on her warmhearted nature to all whom she has touched. She will be remembered by many.

Wilma is preceded in death by her parents Omar and Grace Wurster. She will be dearly missed by numerous cousins and many close friends.

A private burial service will be held at Derinda Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.
