Virginia M. Picolotti, age 88, of Savanna, Illinois, died Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Savanna with Father Dennis Atto as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Savanna. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the Law - Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, with a scripture wake service held at 3:45 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in Virginia’s memory.

Virginia was born on September 22, 1922, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Hatfield) Sigafus in Savanna, Illinois. She attended Savanna Schools. Viginia married Richard “Pic” Picolotti in Savanna. Richard died March 17, 1999.

Virginia was a homemaker who loved to take care of her family. She cherished the time she was able to spend with her children and grandchildren. Virginia was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She enjoyed, shopping, reading and visiting with friends.

Virginia is survived by a son, Michael (Phyllis) Picolotti of Savanna; a daughter, Linda (George) VonEssen of Savanna; a daughter-in-law, Betty (Rick) Borgman of Fulton, Illinois; seven grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Picolotti; two sons, John and Richie Picolotti; two brothers, Herbert and Clarence Sigafus and four sisters, Louise Gerlich, Blanche Schunder, Myrtle Russell and Florence Biasi.
