Shelley Buchholz

Shelley Buchholz, age 39 of Mount Carroll, Illinois, died on Friday, May 18, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Private services will be held and cremation rites will be accorded.
Shelley was born on February 25, 1973, the daughter of Garold L. and Melody D. (Andrews) Smith in Detroit, Michigan. She attended Thomson High School and graduated with the Class of 1991. After graduation, Shelley served her country in the United States Army Reserves. Shelley married Brian K. Buchholz in December of 1995 in Mount Carroll.
Shelley was a homemaker who treasured taking care of her family. She enjoyed the outdoors and liked to go sledding and hiking in the woods. She loved all types of animals and would always help stray cats and injured animals. Shelley also enjoyed watching horror movies and playing card games like Rummy, Skipbo and Phase 10. Shelley was a wonderful, selfless person who would help others before helping herself. Most of all, Shelley cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Shelley will be dearly missed by her husband, Brian of Mount Carroll; two sons, Brandon LaShelle and Tristan Buchholz, both of Mount Carroll; seven brothers and sisters, Gary (Tina) Smith of Thomson, Stephanie Seidemann of Mount Carroll, Mark (Abby) Smith of Thomson, Tamara (Tony Bird) Talley of Thomson, Wendy (Jake Koenes) Talley of Thomson, Thomas Talley III of Thomson and Hawke Smith of Canada; her mother, Melody Talley and step-father, Tom Talley of Thomson; ten nephews and 6 nieces.
Shelley was preceded in death by her father, Garold; her sister, Starr Kiosh and one cousin, Eric Morro.
