Saturnina L. Galo Franks, age 56, of Fulton, Illinois, formerly of Thomson, Illinois, died suddenly on Thursday, February 8, 2018, as the result of a car accident near DeWitt, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. A memorial fund has been established.
Saturnina was born on May 19, 1961, the daughter of Francisco and Arselma (Cañete) Galo in Olongapo City, Philippines. Saturnina was married to Brian Pawlik and Shane Hammer. She was most recently married to Joe Franks on May 2, 2015 in Clinton, Indiana. Joe died on May 24, 2015 in Clinton, Indiana.
Saturnina was a Dealer for the Mississippi Belle II in Clinton, Iowa for several years. She enjoyed creating crafts, crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She loved giving her creations to her friends and family. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking Filipino cuisine. Saturnina also loved the outdoors, especially fishing, taking walks, and cruising the countryside in her car. She also enjoyed playing games, especially pool and bingo. Most of all, Saturnina cherished spending time with her friends, family and grandchildren.
Saturnina will be dearly missed by five children, Jeffrey (Jessica Paisley) Pawlik of Fulton, Sheena Hammer of Clinton, Indiana, Shawn (Brittney) Hammer of Yakima, Washington, Singen Hammer of Yakima, and Nicole Wheeler of Fulton, Illinois; four grandchildren, Hailie and Xavier Pawlik, Kiana Hammer, and Rune Worthey; her life partner, Francis Sherman of Fulton; and one sister, Virginia Fajota of Olongapo City, Philippines; and her father, Francisco. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anselma.
