Peggy A. Cross

Peggy A. Cross, age 78, of Savanna, IL passed away in her home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, July 16, 2020. Cremation rites have been accorded, because, in Peggy’s own words, “it will be my last chance to have a smoking hot body!” A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 10am to 11 am, with a service at 11am, at Law Jones Funeral Home, in Savanna, IL. Inurnment will follow at Spring Lake Cemetery, in Savanna.

Peggy was born May 17, 1942, in Freeport, IL, the daughter of LeRoy and Lucille (Curley) Siedenburg. She grew up in Roselle, and attended Palatine High School. Throughout her life she worked as a waitress, cleaned houses, and was a homemaker. Peggy had a love of hummingbirds, her flower beds, and most of all her family. Later in her life, Peggy married Harvey Cross. Together they celebrated 33 years of marriage before Harvey’s passing, last November. Peggy loved Harvey dearly, and it’s clear that a broken heart contributed to her joining him, so soon.

Peggy will be dearly missed by her children, Wendy, Charles, and Bill, and her step children, Scott, Dawn, Pamela, and Mark; two brothers, Lee (Cathy) Siedenburg and Gene (Linda) Siedenburg; brother-in-law, Jack Bluma; and many extended family members, and friends. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Lucille, and her sister, Mary Bluma.
