Patsy "Patty" Stillmunkes

Patsy “Patty” Ann Stillmunkes took pride in the fact she helped children what ever their circumstances were. She passed away at the age of 51 on November 26, 2014 at home with her loving family at her side in Preston, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will take place at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home in Preston. Burial of her cremated remains will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Bellevue, Iowa. Visitation will take place from 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home in Preston. A memorial fund has been established in Patty’s memory.
Patty was born on October 18, 1963, the daughter of John Henry and Pearl Marie (Paasch) Urwin in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended and graduated from Preston High School in Preston. Patty worked as a Teacher’s Aide for Hillcrest in Maquoketa, Iowa where she helped all ages of children with behavior issues. She also worked for Wee Care Preschool and Daycare in Preston, which she enjoyed spending time with the children she was attending to. She married Loras Stillmunkes on June 6, 2008 in Bellevue.
Patty bowled in a league in Maquoketa for several years. She was also very active with CPR training, medication management and mandt training. Patty loved collecting wind chimes, angels, word find puzzles, listening to country music and Cher. Most of all she cherished the time she spent with her family, friends, colleagues and her two grand daughters.
Patty will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Loras of Preston; daughter, Rachel (Steve) Hicks of Davenport, Iowa; grand daughters, Alexis and Makenna Klemme of Bellevue; five brothers, Gerald (Cheryl) Urwin of Maquoketa, David (Doris) Urwin of Bellevue, Nebraska, John (Lynn) Urwin of Grand Mound, Iowa, Dail (Sheila) Urwin of Maquoketa, Kenneth Urwin of Maquoketa; sister, Pamela (Arnie) Brondyke of Preston; many nephews; nieces; aunts and friends.
Patty is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Larry Urwin; aunts; uncles; grandparents; father in-law, Eldon Stillmunkes and a brother in-law, Arnie Schwager.
