Mildred Cooper, age 93, of Hanover, Illinois, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 at the Elizabeth Nursing Home, Elizabeth, Illinois. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hanover, with Father Dennis Morrissy as Celebrant. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 22, at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Hanover with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.. Mildred was born December 10, 1925 in Carneys Point, N.J., the daughter of Harold and Frances (Redman) Dean. She is a graduate of Penns Grove, Penns Grove, N.J. High School. On October 12, 1943, Mildred married Kenneth Cooper in Paris, Texas, just prior to Kenneth serving in the Army during WWII. They went on to raise a son, Jake, and celebrated 62 years of marriage until Ken’s passing in 2005.
Mildred was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hanover.
Mildred is survived by her son, Jake Cooper and daughter-in-law, Luba, of Lincoln, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Scott Cooper of Omaha, Nebraska, Valerie Cooper of Lincoln, Nebraska, Chris Cooper and his wife Mattie of Danville, California. Great-grandchildren - Gracie and Bowen Cooper of Danville, California.
Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, both parents, and one brother, Harry.
