Mary Francis Robertson, age 83, of Savanna, Illinois passed away April 10, 2019 at Big Meadows Nursing Home with her daughter Melissa “Missy” by her side. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial fund has been established in Mary’s name.

Mary was born April 21, 1935, in Savanna, Illinois, the daughter of Francis and Ruth (Coats) McCombie. Mary married Graham Colehour, with whom she had four children; Mary Jane, Michael, Patricia, and Jon. After Graham’s tragic passing, Mary met Leland Schmaling and the two were wed. With Leland, Mary birthed two children; Melissa and Steven. In her later years, Mary was wed to Donnie Robertson. The two were married until Donnie’s death in 2014.

In her younger years, Mary worked as a dental hygienist. Before settling in as a homemaker, raising her children and tending to her family. She loved wild flowers and spent time in nature whenever she could. She always loved her walks in the woods. Her artistic side shone through brightly, with her drawings, and ceramics creations.

Mary will be dearly missed by her two sons, Michael Colehour and Jon Colehour, both of Phoenix, Arizona; three daughters, Melissa Schmaling Coverdill of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, Mary Jane Jacobs of Savanna, Illinois, and Patricia (Jeff) Janssen of Phoenix, Arizona; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Francis and Ruth, husbands Graham Colehour, Leland Schmaling, and Donald Robertson, son Steven Schmaling (2012), and three brothers, John, Pat, and Michael McCombie.
