Mary Jean Richter

Mary Jean Richter, age 75, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died Monday, July 7, 2008 at Coventry Village, Sterling, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2008, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. Reverend David Vidler from the First Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Mary’s memory. Memorials may be sent to Self Help Enterprises, 2300 W. Le Fevre Road, Sterling, Illinois, 61081.

Mary was born on July 24, 1932 the daughter of John W. and Anna Laura (Wacker) Richter in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. She attended Fairground school in Mt. Carroll and also attended schools for the handicapped.
Mary worked at Self Help Enterprises in Sterling, Illinois as an assembler. Mary enjoyed watching cars drive by their home and naming the make and model. She liked watching TV and collecting jewelry and stuffed toys.
Mary will be dearly missed by two brothers, Edward (Maxine) Richter of Mesa, Arizona and Glen (Gladys) Richter of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; and her friends at the Self Help Enterprises. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Donald Richter.
