Lydia C. Ebert, age 94 of Elizabeth, Illinois, died on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Elizabeth Nursing Home, Elizabeth, Illinois. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elizabeth, with Reverend Kenneth Arndt Officiating. Burial will take place in the Elizabeth Cemetery, Elizabeth. A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth. A memorial fund has been established in Lydia’s memory. Lydia was born on October 16, 1915, the daughter of William and Mathilda (Spoerl) Theviot in Sherrill, Iowa. Lydia married John Ebert on October 28, 1936. John died June 30, 1979 in Elizabeth.
Lydia farmed with her husband for 34 years in the Elizabeth area. She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elizabeth. Lydia enjoyed dancing, word search puzzles, traveling, Bingo and scrap booking. Most of all, Lydia loved spending time with her family.
Lydia will be dearly missed by her son, John Jr. (Sandra) Ebert of Elizabeth; three daughters, Lillian Beyer of Elizabeth, Joanne (Virgil) Martin of Lena, Illinois and Joyce (Randy) Stadel of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Lydia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; two sons, LaVerle and LeRoy; a son-in-law, LeRoy Beyer; a grandson, Mark Martin; one brother and two sisters.
