After graduation, Louise attended Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, Illinois. Louise married William “Bill” Tippett on August 7, 1955 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Elizabeth. Louise was a homemaker who treasured caring for her family. In her younger years, she taught at the Rock College School in rural Elizabeth and later for the Pleasant Hill School. She later worked for Old Northwest Land Company, and the ASCS office in Elizabeth. She was a longtime member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elizabeth, where she played the organ, sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and was active with the LWMS. She was also a member of the Jo Daviess County Homemakers Extension. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, singing and playing the piano. She loved going to the theater and watch her children and grandchildren perform. Louise was even known to make an occasional appearance onstage herself. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Bill, especially on their trips to Cornwall, Alaska and Hawaii. Most of all, Louise cherished Sunday dinners with family, and spending time with her close family and friends.
