Jeanne A. Siegworth, age 93, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center, Clinton, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. Burial will take place in Ladies’ Union Cemetery, Stockton, Illinois. A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. A memorial fund has been established in Jeanne’s memory.
Jeanne was born June 9, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Burss and Viola (Greenwald) Smith. She attended parochial schools in the Chicago area. Jeanne married Frances Beard. She later married Ralph Robinson, Ralph passed away in 1984. She later went on to marry Walter Siegworth in, Walter passed away in 2003.
Jeanne went to work in geriatrics, doing bed side care and nursing at the Morgan Memorial Nursing Home in Stockton, Illinois. Jeanne worked at Micro Switch in Freeport, Illinois for four years. In her younger years, Jeanne tested dairy cattle for the University of Illinois. Jeanne also owned and operated the Stockton Restaurant and Truck Stop for two years.She managed the Carolyn Mark Home in Mt. Carroll for 16 years where she found joy in visiting and talking with the residents.
Jeane was a life long member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Carroll. Jeanne loved the outdoors and treasured all of the wonderful things nature had to offer. She even owned her own natural food store and operated a plant and flower business. She enjoyed outdoor photography, painting with oils, writing stories and poetry, and was an avid reader.
Jeanne will be missed by her three children, Timothy Robinson of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, Tom Robinson of Savanna, Illinois, and Ruth (Jonathan) Radke of Carpentersville, Illinois; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, Frances, Ralph, and Walter; and two step-brothers.
