Jacqueline "Jackie" S. York

Jacqueline “Jackie” S. York, age 72, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at the Freeport Rehab and Health Care Center, Freeport, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial celebration of life gathering will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Mt. Carroll Community House, 101 North Main St., Mt. Carroll.
Jackie was born September 29, 1940, in New York, New York, the daughter of Emanuel and Charlotte (Levine) Friedland. She graduated from High School in Brooklyn, New York, in 1958. Jackie married Marvin Vietmeyer on October 30, 1990. He preceded her in death.
Jackie owned and operated the Courtyard Café in Mt. Carroll for over ten years. Most recently she worked in the Deli at the Wal – Mart in Clinton, Iowa.
Jackie is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Debra (John) Rabczak of Rockford, Illinois, Patrick Donegan of Pleasant Hill, California, Michael (Jodi) York of Lanark, Illinois, and Kendra (Kerry) Davis of Savanna, Illinois; six grandson’s, one granddaughter; and three great grandchildren.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, James Donegan; and one brother, Jeffery Friedland.
